MY INK

Kayla McBride’s Tattoos

Left Shoulder
I have “KKAJ” in an infinity sign. The tattoo stands for Kayla, Karlee, Aaron, Jayden. My brother and sisters mean everything to me, they are my motivation, my heart and all things good about who I am and who I have become. For me, that’s infinite, that’s forever, it was my first tattoo.

Left Rib Cage
The words “Be strong and courageous” … from one of my favorite verses Joshua 1:9, and its about not having fear in all the things that you do with the gifts you have received. This is testament to my faith and everything that I stand for. No Fear.

Right Rib Cage
I have a small obsession with arrows, because they can only be propelled forward, all the setbacks, the hardships, its a constant reminder that there is another day ahead and to keep fighting.

I have two as well as a quote about A Rose That Grew From Concrete by 2Pac underneath.

Tupac stood for so much more than just hip hop and has always been one of my idols in the way he saw the world, especially women. I have always resonated with the poem and the quote he said about it, it is tatted on my side with a rose in the background

Behind My Ear
I have a small heart behind my right ear. It’s always been my staple in anything I have drawn or wrote, something that embodies what I’m about, unconditional love.

Left Arm Sleeve
My sleeve is something that I have been brewing for a while. Something that embodies everything I’m about and want to become.

I have the Roman numerals 1,2,3 and 4 with the 1 highlighted because I’m the oldest of 4 kids, underneath that I have 21 in Roman numerals. 21 has been my number since day one and has carried me through the trenches.

Something hella important to me…under that, I have the word “unconditional”. This is hella important to me…unconditional love is something that can’t be bent or broken, its infinite, that’s how I choose to love. No matter the pain or crap that life throws my way, I choose to love unconditionally… above all of that I have a heart left open. This also coincides with love being unconditional. In todays world we are triggered to close up every time that we get hurt or have been broken down. I choose to stay open and keep my heart open and allow love to flow in, at all time…. always a receptor of love

Underneath all of that, I have a heartbeat around my forearm with a strand of dna warped into it, love is a part of me. It’s something that drives me. Something I crave and something that I love to give…its a part of me. Always has been.

Also, written into the dna is something I live by “take care of those who take care of you” I live by this, my circle is small and surrounded by people who love me in every way. Physically, spiritually, intuitively, and emotionally. Everything that I am is because of the people closest to me.
